  The house was in need of repairs. The inside was adequate, but in need of some extra cleaning, especially in the bathrooms. It was the only house , in the 6 years we have rented in Fla., that didn't supply even the basics needed to keep the house clean. No laundry soap, no DW soap, no dish cloths, no cleaners of any kind, only one garbage bag in the house, etc.The threshold between the LR & the Bathroom was falling off & we tripped on it a few times. The exterior of the house needs a lot of TLC. Some of the railings on the deck are falling off, the yard is full of thorny plants & not landscaped at all.Although it was in a perfect location, I wouldn't rent it again unless it had some up dates. Sorry

    Thank you for feedback! We will definitely take your suggestions into consideration. Did you not read your pre-arrival packet? We email this to you as soon as the final payment is paid so that there would be no surprises. This informs you of everything that we do provide including all of the beds being made up for you which I know is a treat after traveling for so long. I wish that you would have contacted us during your stay so that we could have addressed the issues that you have mentioned here. Unfortunately it is very difficult to take care of these things after the fact, but we will definitely look into the maintenance items that you mentioned. Our goal is to have your stay be enjoyable! Most of the yards around here are not landscaped as this vegetation does not survive very well in the sand and beach conditions. Thank you again for your feedback!!

  The only negative of this house was that you couldn't see the beach from the deck, but the beach was only 100 steps away (literally across the driveway and down a walkway through the dunes) so that didn't matter much! The furniture and amenities were perfect. They were well taken care of, but also well used, so it didn't feel like we were in a place where we couldn't relax!

  We enjoyed our stay at Gone Shellin'. Our Son and his family had the other side of the duplex for the week. We enjoyed the fresh seafood available in the area. The beach was an easy walk from the condo. It was fun to watch our 2 yr old granddaughter play in the sand and water. We really enjoyed sitting on the beach in the evenings too. We are already talking about making another trip to Cape San Blas.

  Overall our experience was fantastic. The prperty was in a great location and access to the beach was very simple. The beach chairs and kids toys was fabulous as were the few fishing lures and baits left over from others. The amenities inside the house were good. Needed a pan to BBQ fish and shrimp. But we got by. Also needed a bottle opener for some refreshments on the beach. Not a big deal, but the yard was not that desierable, unkept with long grass (weeds). The house was generally clean. There was old chips sitting on top of the frig and the roll away bed in the couch had sand in the sheets. Also there were piles of sand under furniture throughout the house. I can understand it is hard to clean all properties thoroughly every week. We also did not recieve was cloths for the kitchen, I know I should of called the management company but we got by. Anyway, thanks for a great stay and would consider staying again at the same house or another from Coastal Joe Vacations. I hope y'all made it through Debby. I feel for everyone there especially those who have rentals for the week. Take care and be safe.

  Once again we enjoyed our 2 week stay. The beach is so wonderfully dog friendly and people friendly too! It's also NOT crowded. Sunsets are amazing! It seemed on this visit that the property, while very comfortable, felt a little neglected in terms of jammed cupboards, lack of normal cleaning supplies, faulty TV remote, DVD player not working and a torn bedspread/comforter. On prior visits all was pristine!

  We had a great time and very much appreciated the fact that we were able to get into the house earlier than 4:00. The management staff was very friendly and helpful. In the past we have always stayed in beach front houses and while this house was very nice and not much further of a walk, we missed being able to sit on the deck and have an unobstructed view. Other than that, it was perfect for our family. Thanks so much, I'm sure we'll be back.

  We had a wonderful time at Gone Shellin'. It isn't a first row house and the view is blocked by houses in front but there is still a good view in between those houses.
  The bed was very comfortable. Loved the furniture. It was very helpful to have wi-fi. We will definitely be staying again!

  It was a very beautiful setting. A very good deal for the price. The condo could use some general updating but was overall extremely nice. It would be nice to have had a few more staples provided like dishwasher soap, garbage bags, an extra bath towel. No one really wants to have to immediately find a grocery store and fill a big shopping list when they are on vacation. The rental management company was extremely prompt in getting the stove fixed when it went out.

Please remember to read the Pre-arrival Packet prior to your arrival advising you of all that we provide in the home and what to bring with you. We clearly state that we do not provide dishwasher soap or extra garbage bags. The house sleeps 6 so there were enough linens for 6 people which should have provided a few extra for you.   We recently stayed at Gone Shellin' and had a fabulous time. The unit was exactly as advertised and spotlessly clean when we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked with all needed items and the beds were great. It’s located steps from the beach with a private walk over. The beach was never crowded and the water was great. If you are looking for a small unit with everything you need this is it. We are already planning our return trip.

  The house was everything it was presented to be. Very comfortable, clean and pleasantly decorated. The only problem we experienced was that the lower bedroom was very cold in contrast to the upstairs. It would be good if the vent in that room could be closed if desired. Otherwise, our stay there was perfect. We enjoyed every minute.

  Late check-in: We got the folder fine and the rental co. did a great job. Only suggestion I would have is to not use REEF street as reference point. We got in late and missed the turn at least 3 times. The letters on "REEF" are not reflective so do not show up in headlights. There's a big sign that references the homes on the street. I think it's something like "Silent Sands", (my memory is failing me.) It is a very big sign and would be a better reference than REEF street. NOTE: I just saw that my name is shown as being from WayCata, MN. It should be WayZata, MN.

  Having lived in the panhandle of Florida all of my life has been amazing. We have spent many years vacationing in CSB. The beaches are not as pretty as the beaches east of the Cape, but there was no oil from the BP spill. The well was capped while we were in CSB. We like CSB because of the closeness to the "Scalloping Patch". We hope to be able to afford the ever increasing rates. When we stayed the first year in a rental, the cost was $350 for a 4 BR 3 Bath house. Now it is about $1300 for a 2 BR 2 bathroom duplex. We watched the rates soar by $100 per year for many years.

  Cabin was very clean and well-equipped. Couch and loveseat were both pretty "sat out" and could be replaced. We thought this property was right on the beach, but it was one tier back. However, very close to beach entrance and we had a tiny view of the ocean from the deck. We went fishing one day in the Bay with Captain Pete White--just and awesome experience. Caught our limit of seat trout and then caught huge red fish. We love the Cape and have been there many, many times. It never disappoints.

  bad: owner misrepresented the proximity of the home to the beach - we thought we would be right on the water, this was not the case. there was a row of houses between us and the beach. living room furniture was not comfortable, ice maker not working

  We loved the house! Everything we could possibly need was available for our use, although you might consider a new gas grill, as the one provided doesn't work very well. Other than that, the house is nicely decorated, well equipped, roomy enough for seven and close enough to the beach to be convenient. It was the best vacation we've had in over ten years and will be definitely be back! Thanks so much for the great time!

  The location was ideal -- truly 100 steps from the beach! You can watch the water from the deck in the early morning and be on the beach in a few steps. The owners provide beach chairs and water toys and umbrellas and things of that nature, as well as a stereo and DVD player for rainy days and evenings. We love the location and the area and hope to move to the town in the next year or so. However, the furniture in the house was a bit uncomfortable. That was our only complaint. We would certainly recommend Coastal Joe's to anyone.

  My husband and I were extremely pleased with our experience at "Gone Shellin" and will be back next year. We have been visiting the Cape for seven years and this first time experience with this property and management was the best of all. The ownners had a very nice note on the side of the refrigerator saying how proud they were of their home and hoped any guest would "treat her as they would their own home." That pride was evident in the furnishings, decorations, colors, and conveniences available to us. We appreciated and respected their place and will be loyal and dependable guests for hopefully years to come!

  It was great there's not a lot of "stuff" to due but just relax on the beach. So I got to sleep late take naps. Most of all not a lot people. We didn't have to stand in line for anything and not packed on the beach like sardines.

  We really liked the layout of this condo. The main draw was that they allowed pets. Our only complaint was a problem with the wireless internet, we didn't have access during our stay as advertised. Everything else was great and we would stay there again.
