Just came back from a week at Sole E Luna and it was just heavenly! The house is absolutely beautiful and most definitely not your typical beach rental. Beaches were beautiful and hardly any other families around. Our extended family of 8 had a fabulous time and would stay here again without a doubt!
We vacationed with our children and grandchildren, plus our dog. The children's ages ranged from 2-16. Everyone had a wonderful time. The beach was wonderful and the pool was excellent. We went from one water source to the other. A perfect getaway! We ate at Joe Mamma's- authentic Italian pizza and at the Owl Cafe in Apalachicola (outstanding upscale food with a comfortable atmosphere- kids welcomed). We grilled out at home most days and just kicked back. One morning we road horses on the beach and it was a neat experience. We highly recommend this house and beach!
Everyone loved the house, inside nicely decorated, comfortable beds, outside your close enough to beach just a short walk, area was very good for getting away from it all. I would definitely come back.
What a great way to spend the week at the beach. We were less than 400 steps from the beach, home was lovely, nice peaceful time.
Two comments that I would let fellow travelers know: 1.the home has almost none of the necessities (toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing detergent) that I normally see in rental condos or homes. Although you are supposed to purchase your own, renters need to know that there are only the very bare bones necessities (like 1 towel) provided for you. Most vacationers do not think they need to buy toilet paper and dish towels when staying at a 3000$ home. Other rentals have been much more adequately provisioned. 2.The loft bedroom is not equipped for adults and the rental page should state this...children younger than 10 should stay there, but there is not a door on that room (this should also be noted). We had an adult who got the "short end of the stick" when renting that "room." These were the only real surprises...the location was excellent, and truly a short walk to the beach.
Thank you for the comments and compliments on this home. This renter must not have read the "Pre Arrival Packet" that we send out to every single guest of CJVR. This packet contains the information of what we provide and what the renter will need to bring with them. We provide one roll of toilet paper and a bar of soap in each bathroom, a set of towels for every person that the house sleeps and a trash bag in the kitchen to get you started. Our paperwork is very clear in this and I am sorry that this renter was not aware before arrivin. Most rental homes do not provide the other amenities that were mentioned but often, previous renters will leave items they purchased which is always nice to find. We do provide dishtowels for the home as well.
Sole e Luna was a beautiful property in a very private setting. The house is decorated beautifully (way above avg) and was very spacious and clean. The beach walkway is steps from the driveway. This is not the end of the Cape we prefer and the sand is strewn with sticks/driftwood, etc. but very quiet, not as busy as the other end of the Cape. It was much closer to the area restaurants/shopping. The pool area and grill were very nice (our teens loved it). We had an awesome peaceful vacation and Scott treated us right at Coastal Joe's. It was a last-minute decision to go to the Cape during spring break and he was very helpful when booking.
We had tried to rent SOLE E LUNA thru another rental agency, they were NOT helpful at all. We were going to rent another house in Destin Florida...but there was Mary B in my email, she was welcoming helpful made the deal work and I have been telling everyone about the house since. We had a great time and loved the house and beach. We also enjoyed the pool but it badly needed to be cleaned...sides, bottom. Also, carpet in loft room could use some cleaning.
My family and I had the great pleasure of enjoying a wonderful family gathering in Cape San Blas. We had two houses full of family members together in the Two Palms area. Sol e Luna was so inviting and comfortable. The well stocked kitchen and large grill was definitely well used. There was very nice outdoor furniture on all the balconies and around the pool. We really loved the "Old Beach" feel, not overrun with condos and crowds.
The home is great. The location is extremely quiet and private. It's a wonderful place to just relax, relate and release!
The biggest thing to take away from Sole e Luna is seclusion. If you are fine with being far away from the hustle and bustle of the world this is the place for you. If you are one that would rather go to a nice restaurant on your vacation you may want to reconsider. One is about an hour to an hour and a half away from city life. Even just a grocery store is 15 minutes away. The good side is the beaches are secluded as well. The property was very nice and a short walk to the beach. The pool wasn't large but not small either. Our kids enjoyed it. Had an issue with maintenance and based upon the same wondered how well property had been cleaned prior to stay. Overall a good experience, but just a little too secluded for us.
House was very roomy. It is in excellent condition. Kids loved the pool. Easy access to a beautiful beach. We will rent again with Coastal Joe
