We had a great time at Barefoot Escape. The home was well equipped including many beach and pool toys. The grandkids really enjoyed riding around in the golf cart and swimming in the pool. Ther was clearly some repairs needed around the home due to wear and tear from the hurricane and salt air. The garage area needed cleaning and porch was not screamed in any more.
Overall it was a good house and I would recommend it. Nice ocean view.
Great location

Barefoot Escape Has a great floor plan for large families with ample space. My only complaint is the kitchen is not well stocked at all. There are many items that appear to be nonexistent or cheap. I realize it is a rental and that you may not want to put top of the line smallwares in, but at least stock with necessities that are functional.
The golf cart and kayaks are definitely an added bonus.
great escape

The pictures don't do this house justice. I felt like we were much closer to the ocean then the pictures leads you to believe. The house does have some wear and tear from the elements, but overall I was very pleased with the rental. The screen door on the deck was almost unusable, upper handle on sliding door was coming off, ice dispenser in door didn't work, there was no ping pong table, tv in basement didn't work at all, and one bike had a flat tire. With all that being said, I would love to stay here again. There are a lot of stairs involved with this home but they are wide and well laid out. The views on the deck are wonderful, especially if you can catch a clean sunset or a storm over the ocean. The house had more than enough room for all 7 of us. The pool while on the smaller side usually has some shade almost all day which comes in handy on the hot days. The kitchen is well stocked and has plenty of room.
A Great House......

Enjoyed a beautiful week in this lovely home!! We will definitely consider this house again in the future. Did find a few maintenance issues that we passed along to the management company to address. Also, there was not a ping pong table or hammock per the description; however, it did not impact our trip at all. The views and location of this house are awesome - with just a short walk to the beach. Plenty of room too for our family to spread out. The house has lots of beach and water toys for use in addition to a golf cart which was fun for our family. Overall, very good experience!!

Other than 2 non-working grills, only 2/5 in working condition and a few light bulbs that were out we had a terrific vacation in the home. You can't beat the location and the SECLUSION. VERY relaxing.
A special vacation

We had a great time. Loved the pool and so close to the beach. We had a bonfire on the beach went crab hunting and found a lot of shells. The kids loved swimming in the pool. We will definitely return.
Great house and location, "extras" need a little attention
Recent Guest, Brentwood, Tn United States
Cape San Blas is a great location for a getaway and this house is a wonderful place to stay. Thanks to an undeveloped beach area, there is a open view to the beach which is just a short walk away. Private pool is VERY nice and is as large as the community pool which you won't need. The house is well stocked with puzzles and games for down time or rainy days. Also beach chairs and toys. State park is wonderful and great place to fly fish in the bay - we had redfish and trout for dinner on three nights! General stores less than a mile away very convenient -also have ice cream, fresh donuts and fill growler with local beers,
Downsides: it's an extra hour or two driving to CSB. Much more secluded than Destin area with great beach but it does take awhile to get there. This also means not much selection for eating out if that's your thing. Also no wax museums . There are 3 kayaks and 5 bikes but they all need some attention. Straps and wheels to pull kayak are broken. There are only 3 oars with others broken. Two of the bikes were inoperable and tires were flat in others. There is an air pump but it requires 2 people to use it because a connector is missing. Bikes then became rideable but if you want to do much biking I would bring your own or rent. Golf cart is fun to have but it also needs attention- brakes are really bad and it is very slow. Water pressure is low so don't all plan to shower at same time. Lots of steps if this bothers you. Main level is top level.
So all in all we loved it but don't expect everything to be perfect.

Awesome home! Awesome Wedding! Awesome vacation!

We rented Barefoot Escape for a week in July. Our stay was absolutely amazing. We got married on the beach right near the house, the beaches are breathtaking. The house was better than we imagined. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding and vacation home. We plan to make this a yearly family vacation.

A Wonderful Barefoot Escape

This is a very well laid out house for large families. There were 9-13 of us at different times during the week and we had plenty of space to spread out. Loved all the different decks, the view of the beach for a second row home was fantastic. House was very clean, beds were comfy and plenty of dishes. Be aware that cell reception was nonexistent(there is a landline) if you love your cell phone, that was not a big issue for us. Also, there are a lot of stairs in the house and the beach access is three houses down and onto the boardwalk. Not a big deal for most of us, but our mom did not enjoy the walk in hot weather. There is a golf cart but the husbands decided the steering was weird and didn't use it. Do most of your shopping in Port St. Joe but the little island store is very well stocked for anything you might forget or run out of. Sand Bucket on the cape has great bbq at reasonable prices and this is the place to be for oyster lovers. If you are looking for nightlife and boardwalks this is not the place for you, but we found its remote location great for relaxing and family time.

We had a great time! The only things, which were very minor, the fishing equipment was inoperable. We went to take the kids fishing and actually had to go buy equipment. I did not have a problem with that except that it was said the equipment was available. The ice maker did not work.
Good location and great facility

We were there for two weeks and really enjoyed ourselves as did the various friends and relatives who dropped in. Loved the pool and easy beach access. The management company was very helpful in addressing any needs we had. I would caution anyone with knee or leg issues--there are many steps.

Loved the house and location. Only negative was that we were unaware of some of the things we'd need to bring (I.e. trash bags, dish washing soap, etc.).

Nice House
Recent Guest, Newnan, GA United States
I don't think this house should be marketed as a 4 bedroom because the bedroom on the bottom floor does not have a door offering very limited privacy. It also only has a futon.
Upon arrival at the house we realized the house was NOT cleaned very well. I notified the management company and took pictures of the bathrooms. To their credit, the management company sent out a cleaning crew at no charge.

If you rent Barefoot Escape bring your swimsuit, sunscreen and beach towels and leave everything else in the garage. This beach home has absolutely everything you need to enjoy days at the beach, pool, and state park. We had a wonderful week in Cape San Blas and would have moved in to Barefoot Escape.

Owner and Coastal Joe Staff Fabulous!
Above and beyond expectations.
4 separate sleeping floors was terrific for our extended family
Deborah K., Tallahassee, FL United States
We had three generations, 11 people in all. Having 4 separate floors and bathrooms was a blessing. The large kitchen was also helpful. The location and view were great for a second tier home. The house is a bit tired on the outside and needs new furnishings in the living room. otherwise very accommodating and comfortable. All issues we encountered were dealt with quickly and professionally by Coastal Joe Staff.
Coldest temps in a decade in Florida
Still a great place
