We enjoyed our stay at Cape Sunset. The owner, Jenn, was more than accommodating. She is so sweet and very helpful. Britney at CJVR was equally as accommodating, sweet, and helpful. Our stay was perfect. We enjoyed family time, relaxing, and scalloping. It was our first time to vacation at Cape San Blas. We fell in love with the area. We cannot wait to return

Thank you for the kind words!! We look forward to having y'all stay with us again!!

We had a great time at Cape Sunset. The owner was very welcoming and provided a lot of extras we had not anticipated. The management company has to be reminded to fix small things (stove top burner was out and there was no propane for the grill). Bikes and cayaks were provided. If you plan on using the cayaks you will need to haul them (transport dollies are provided) to a launch point a couple of blocks away. There were plenty of tourist support businesses (restaurants, general stores, etc,) available. Be sure to check out the comments guest book for recommendations and advice.

Manager's Response

Thank you for your feedback! We will pass it along. If there is ever anything that happens during your stay, let us know right away so we can take care of it. No issue is too small!!

We have been visiting the Cape for the past several years. This was one of our families favorite homes! It was clean, well stocked, and had several extras like kayaks and bikes. There was no stone left unturned! We typically buy an umbrella and beach chair each year but this home had all of that and more. We would recommend this property in a minute. Jennifer was great to check in on us and make sure all was well. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Manager's Response

Thank you for your kind words! We cherish owners like the ones that own this home. They make sure that your vacation is top notch! There extra amenities that are supplied are a definite plus.

This is the second time we rented from Jennifer at Cape Sunset. We love the place and that Jennifer is always a text away for questions or help. Big bonus .. no need to rent kayaks or bikes or bring a beach wagon or toys or games or kids toys or boogie boards or movies .. Even a park pass when available.. highly recommend enjoying the bay.. what a treasure .. peaceful and so many fun creatures to check out. Cone Heads for chowder and baked oysters is a must have !! The beach at the state park is always a must as well. 6th summer here !!

Manager's Response

You can't beat the secluded and family friendly atmosphere of the Cape! It'll keep you wanting to come back for more. We appreciate the kind words!

This property is awesome and has a great location. While not "on the beach", you have pretty good views from the top balcony and it's just a short walk (two blocks) to the dedicated access. You can also see a little of the bay from out of the kitchen window. This place has everything that you need for the beach. Kayaks, toys, beach cart, boogie board, bikes, it's all there. Best part for us is the proximity to the State Park which has great access and is perfect to take the kids to go exploring. Kitchen is well stocked and beds are comfy, wifi works great.

We visited CSB for the first time in June of 2017. We had such a wonderful time. This home is 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, very spacious and open, and was the perfect size for our family of four. The decor was beach-themed and very tasteful. Both the owner and property management personnel were so nice and responsive to all of my questions and had given us some tips about the area. The beach access is about a five-minute walk from the home, although we drove most days to haul all of our gear. We had a lot since hubby is a photographer, plus having two girls and a dog. There is a little parking area right by the beach access, and there was always a space available. The property is also dog-friendly, and our pup LOVED the beach and surroundings as much as our girls did. We rode bikes, collected shells, went kayaking at the state park, and watched as many sunsets and sunrises as we could. We even saw a family of deer visiting several mornings at our rental. If you like peace and solitude, this is the place for you. We can't wait to return.

We arrived to find the rental just as the pictures showed. Tons of things to use during your stay... bikes, kayaks, sand toys, chairs, wagon to carry your stuff in.....which all were handy. We didnt end up using the kayaks but liked having the option. The use of the State Park Pass was most appreciated and used! The rental was clean for the most part. Dishes needed an extra washing and there was dog hair when we swept and also in the sofa bed area. But we ended up not using the sofa bed anyway. Very convienient to bay and gulf. Couldve done without all the stairs....but other than that....Id stay here again in a second!

We had a wonderful stay in Cape San Blas. The house was perfect for our needs! The only complaint that I would have is that it required extra cleaning by me on vacation. We found dog hair on our sheets and other places in the house. We also had to wait to enter the house late at night the day we arrived because it was being cleaned.
We loved the location! It was a short walk to the beach every day. The house was set up with the upper level being the main living area and this was great for beautiful views of the Gulf. The kitchen was perfect for our needs. The outside shower was extremely helpful!
We enjoyed our stay and plan coming back in the future.

Manager's Response

We are happy to hear that y'all had a great stay here on Cape San Blas and do hope that you will come back in the near future. Cape Sunset is such a great bay side property that we get the privilege of managing and we value the feedback that our guest give us! Since we have found out about this happening, we did have a talk with this cleaner and felt that it was best for us to let them go. We do apologize for any inconvenience that this might have caused!

Cape Sunset was a great place for the week. Awesome location (right off the main road on the Cape) and close to everything that you need.

There are quite a few stairs in the house, but we did not mind. My wife was 5 months pregnant during our stay, and she did not have much problem with the stairs at all.

Access points for the beach and the bay are walkable for sure. We choose to go right up the road and drive to the State Park. Great access there and you can literally go back and forth between the bay and the beach very easily.

The house had most everything you need, but you should bring some extra rolls of paper towels, a couple of trash bags, etc. from home when you come.

Bedrooms were nice and bed was comfortable.

Love, love, love the fact that you get to use kayaks, bikes, and all the other many beach toys that come with house. I brought my kayak carrier from home and was able to transport one of the kayaks back and forth to the park.

This area has many things to explore and the fishing is awesome! Great place to bring kids, especially if you want to unplug and get them back out into nature. Definitely check out the Sand Dollar cafe in Port St. Joe for some good southern cooking.

Property management was very professional and answered all of our questions.

We had a very smooth check in and check out. The owner/manager was very informative and so easy to work with. We were new to the area and enjoyed it immensely! The bay at the state park was so beautiful as was the beach. We were looking for a "not very crowded" beach and we found it here. We would love to come back in the future!

We had an amazing stay at Cape Sunset. The home is beautiful, clean and stocked with everything you need and more. There are plenty of extras and perks with this home including the kind owner that is willing to go out of her way to accommodate. No need to rent kayaks or bikes as they are included. We rented a beach cart and added to the fun.. they are allowed in the state park which is just up the road. We have been to CSB the past four summers and this place was the best yet. ???? CSB .. closest thing in the US to Jamaica we have found and our Chloe ???? is welcomed and loves it too.

We loved our stay at Cape Sunset in Cape San Blas, FL. The house was stocked with everything that we needed plus some. The property had bikes, kayaks and beach chairs as well as an outdoor fire pit and gas grill. The property was dog friendly and both of our dogs had a blast. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner at the house and I had everything that I could possibly need for the meal preparation. The floors were not as clean as we had hoped it not a deal breaker by any means.

Manager's Response

We're so happy that you all enjoyed your stay at Cape Sunset! Thank you for letting us know about the floors. We will definitely make sure that our cleaners are aware, and also make an extra effort to correct this in the future. Come back and see us!

Nicely decorated, very clean house with a large, extremely well stocked kitchen. Perfect beach view from the upper deck, ideal for watching sunsets, stargazing and dining outdoors. We also appreciated that there were three bikes, and a couple of kayaks, and most importantly, our dog was allowed to come along. We'll definitely consider this property for our next trip to Cape San Blas.

This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and won't be our last! It is remote but exactly what we were looking for. We loved that the house and beach were dog friendly. Jennifer, the homeowner, was super communicative, and the rental agency was responsive. Cape Sunset is well stocked, with options for play both inside and out. We were there during a week of storms (really bad timing in that regard), but our 11 and 9 year old sons had plenty of games to keep them occupied, and we made quick trips to the beach and park during breaks in the rain (and even some in the rain!), so it all worked out beautifully! Shower and hoses below the home to wash off the sand were unexpectedly helpful. Nearby dining options are limited, so do be sure to come with plenty of groceries. All in all, Cape Sunset is a wonderful spot for families with kids and dogs! Such a treat to be able to take our boys, human and canine! :)

We enjoyed our stay at Cape Sunset very much. We have been going to the Cape San Blas area each summer since 2005 and I would have to say that this is by far one of the best houses we've had the pleasure of staying in. Cape Sunset has been well stocked with everything imaginable to make a vacation fun. Great attention to detail has been given to provide so many "extras" that most rental properties do not include. The location with private access points to both the gulf and the bay is excellent. We especially enjoyed the kayaks available for our use and the park pass. The house is nicely furnished and has a very welcoming appeal. Not only was it "as was even better! The staff at Coastal Joe made check-in/out a breeze in addition to providing a very detailed and informative "welcome packet" upon check-in. I would highly recommend Cape Sunset and Coastal Joe for your next vacation rental!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Cape San Blas vacation rental home named Cape Sunset. The experience far surpassed my expectations. The home was lovely, nicely decorated, and had all the amenities one could possibly ask for. We watched several sunsets from our top balcony, with glass of wine in hand. The views were outstanding. The most beautiful beach in Florida or the infamous St. Josephs Bay was just footsteps from our door. I have lived in Florida most of my life.there is no beach as natural, undeveloped, and pristine as that found on the Northern end of the T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. A 15 minute drive to Port St. Joe or Apalachicola for fresh seafood and of course world-famous oysters, was an added bonus to our stay. The homes owner, Jenn, was so friendly and provided us all the information we could possibly desire, on all the local amenities. A short bike ride up to the parks deserted and pristine beaches and a kayak ride on the bay are just a couple of activities that Jenn can fully outfit you with. Jenn could not do enough to ensure our stay was superb. We will most definitely return to Cape Sunset.

This was a very different beach vacation. Our 2 dogs enjoyed themselves and one loved digging in the sand and laying flat in the moist coolness. Really funny to watch. My little doggie had a hard time....kept getting burrs stuck in her fur which were sharp and had to be cut out. The home is beautiful and was very clean. The floors were so soft to walk on and the mattresses were incredible! The beach and bay accesses were further than we had hoped but the 2 beach carts really helped. The stairs were tiring but were worth it. Got our exercise! I know this sounds petty but there were NO kitchen towels and no paper towels so the 1st nights meal was a little messy. And very few bathroom towels. I' washed towels a lot! And if you would provide some Windex then the outside glass table could be cleaned. And there were only 4 kitchen chairs and one had a broken seat so I'm glad my Grandson stayed home. But the home is very beautiful and had lots of beach toys and chairs and kayaks!!

This house was fantastic - and the owner, Jennifer is a terrific source of information and tips about visiting Cape San Blas. All of the "extras" were included - beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys -- this made our visit so much easier since we were driving down from Ohio.

The kayak was an awesome treat - we saw stingray, a sea urchin and a living sand dollar when we used it to explore the bay.

The state park access was also a great bonus - this is not to be missed! Huge sand dunes, white beaches, peace and quiet.

I can't recommend the Cape enough - if you are coming down for a visit - consider Cape Sunset! We are already dreaming of our next visit! The best, more relaxing vacation we've had in years!

we retired mid-year 2013 and this was our first opportunity to escape Wisconsin in January thru February. Cape Sunset is a beautiful house and is positioned to catch both the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We had never been to the Florida panhandle before and can say it is beautiful and unlike the rest of Florida. The only reason we won't be back is that the 32 steps to climb to the living level of the house is a bit much for us.

We spent a week at Cape Sunset in Cape San Blas, FL and it was one of our best vacations! Cape Sunset is a lovely home located between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joseph Bay. It is a short walk to either body of water. The home had plenty of room for my husband and I, our two teenagers, and dogs. Cape Sunset has satellite TV (with TVs in bedrooms and living room) and WIFI. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The beds in each bedroom were very comfortable. There are 3 bikes, beach chairs, and a grill (which we used a lot) provide with the vacation home. The home has 3 balconys which we enjoyed everyday. We went horseback riding, fishing, to the state park, beaches (which are dog friendly), ate local seafood, and had beach fires at night. The owner of Cape Sunset was very nice and helpful in with sharing tips about the area and recommendations of things to do. We will definitely be back and look forward to our next trip to Cape San Blas and Cape Sunset!

House was clean. Rooms were nice. Liked the outside shower. Chairs under the house were nice to sit on in the afternoon. Had a breeze there. Bikes were good. We used them several times to get some exercise and tour the area. Liked the big sliding glass doors and outside decks. The walk to the beach was a little farther than we expected, but when we did not bring as many items, it was better. Beach was nice, not as crowded as many other beaches I have been to. Saw several people catch large fish along the beach. That was exciting to see. Generally, the week was relaxing and fun for all.

There aren't many two bedroom homes for rent in Cape San Blas. I was happy to find that this home was modern, cute and just our size. The kitchen is well stocked minus pans to use in the oven. With a baby, the five minute walk to the beach was a little bit of a hassle but it should be no problem for most people. Loved all the beach goodies and bikes includes with the house!

Manager's Response

Thank you for your feedback and glad that you all had a nice time. So sorry that you couldn't find the pans. We thought that it was rather strange to read this so we looked in the house and it seems as though the previous guests had put them in the drawer under the oven. Please call us next time so that you do not need to be inconvenienced!

My wife and I (and our small dog) enjoyed our four days at Cape Sunset in Cape San Blas. It was so quiet and the stars were fantastic. This is certainly the place to get away from it all. My VRBO revew should be posted in a few days. The unit was very nice and the pictures on the website did not do it justice. The owners did a very good job of taking care of the little things -- the guidebook on the desk off the kitched and labeling all of the light switches. We love sleeping under the ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We hope to find time next spring to come back and sit on the upper porch just to read and relax. I gave a list of several recommendations to Kaitlin to make future guests even more comfortable and safe.

After driving 3600 miles from Newport, Oregon and staying in hotels all the way, Cape Sunset was a welcome oasis. The home provided a cozy retreat in probably the coldest January on record. We brought our groceries on the way as Jennifer advised us that the nearest town, Port St Joe, was 25 miles from the house. There are 2 small grocery stores with meat and produce closeby, also a burger place, pizza and ice cream. All bakeware and cookware was there for us from blender to cookie sheet, baking pan and a loaf pan for banana bread. The home is modern, clean and bright with perfectly matched decor and wall art in all rooms. We loved the 3 decks for Gulf and Bay views, the wireless internet, ceiling fans, french doors frig, a very comfortable Beautyrest pillow top and a short walk to miles of white sandy beach. There are bikes, beach toys and an outdoor grill, none of which we could use due to the unseasonably cold weather in January. I really appreciated the free long distance calling from the house saving minutes on my cell; although there was a good ATT signal from the home, not everywhere on the Cape though. The best part was that Cisco, our pomeranian, was welcome and could run the beach and play in the Gulf off leash. The only bummer besides the weather were the stickers found in the weeds and pathways. They hurt Cisco's paws and tracked into the house. Jennifer is a thoughtful hostess; she and Coastal Joe made sure our stay was the best it could be.

We stayed in a home directly on the beach last year, but for a home located across Cape San Blas Blvd., we had a great view of the ocean and sunsets from the upper deck patio. The owners thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome. We walked to the beach every day, and we loved using their wagon and beach toys! Their kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking utensils you would need but do bring a butcher knife for bigger food items. Jeff and Michelle are wonderful people! He emailed me a long list of things to do and see. It was great information being our first time at the Cape. We visted the park which was amazing. The kids loved the Bay!!! We also did a little hiking and went out to the beach at the very end of the park. It was so neat to be the only ones on the beach for miles. House was nice. We had everything we needed. The grill was appreciated and we used it a lot! We did have a few cons... The sheets didn't fit the king bed (wouldn't stay on) and were torn. There was not a hand towel or kitchen towel in the place. We went through a lot of paper towels, which I try not to do. We also couldn't use the deck due to Palemento Bugs or Wood Cockroaches. They were everywhere including inside. Which I addressed with the leasing agent upon leaving.

All in all, nice stay. We had horrible weather, but would go back again!

We were unable to watch the sunset from our balcony as promised. The sun goes down right behind a house. However, it was a short walk to the beach to catch the beautiful sunset. Well worth the walk

A couple of things would be helpful: broom, dustpan and dishwasher detergent and more toiletpaper. Also, the tv had a few problem turn on sometimes. Hope this doesn't sound negative. Really we loved it!
Thanks Barb

The only problem we had were with the mattresses. They were pillow top and way too soft. Also the sheets did not stay on the mattresses. By morning the sheets were off. Otherwise it is a great place. We especialy enjoyed the views of both the bay and the gulf.

Beautiful and great house for dogs!

I was looking for a 2 bedroom house and this one was perfect. The rate was very reasonable and the location (though not direct beachfront) was perfect and a short walk to the beach. The view was beautiful and the whole area is totally dog friendly. This house has got two baby gates at the top of each flight of steps which made it perfect for our 2 dogs. They also enjoyed the porches. We will definitely rent from Coastal Joe's again. This was a no hassel rental!

Cape Sunset is a beautiful beach house within walking distance to the beach. My family stayed for one week to fish the bay, scallop, and enjoy the beach. The house has all the comforts of home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cape Sunset. It was clean and well equipped. It was one of the most restful vacations that I have enjoyed in recent years. It was secluded enough to be a getaway, but close enough to major shopping and eating establishment. I would recommend staying with Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals with high marks. This was one of the easiest rentals that I can remember.
