How To Prepare for Your Cape San Blas Vacation

In order to keep Cape San Blas safe and virus free, we are asking that you take every precaution in preparing/packing for your trip and then once you are here on Cape San Blas, following the same strict guidelines as you would if you were at home. Please read the information below to help prepare for your Cape San Blas vacation, and know that we are doing everything we can here to keep everyone safe - we just ask that you do the same for us and our community!

Boy enjoying a Cape San Blas beach vacation

We are thrilled you are considering a Cape San Blas vacation! There were days earlier this spring when we weren’t sure we would get to welcome our Coastal Joe guests, and we are so thankful that our beloved paradise is open for travelers to enjoy some secluded, social distanced beach time with your loved ones!

What To Bring

In addition to your bathing suits,  fun games, beach towels, books and beach toys, please add these additional essential items to your packing list:

  • Hand Soap - For use in all the bathrooms of your rental home.  We provide small bars of soap but expect those won’t be sufficient for the amount of handwashing required at this time.
  • Hand Sanitizer - You can never have too much of that stuff laying around! There will be a bottle in each home for general use, but please make sure to have extras for the house and your vehicle.
  • Paper Products - These are needed for the entirety of your stay. The grocery stores here are selling these items at a very limited amount; usually only one per customer so you will not be able to stock up here if that is what you usually do.
  • Disinfectant Wipes - Your home will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival but we ask that you still wipe things down on a very regular basis. Lysol Spray; if you are one of the lucky ones to have some that would be great to pack too!  We can not find any here locally!

Arrival Information/While You Are Here

We have adjusted our cleaning and check-in procedures in order to keep our guests and employees safe, and to avoid any unecessary contact.

  • Due to the extra cleaning procedures we have put in place, there will be NO EARLY CHECK-INS! It is crucial that we give our cleaners and inspectors the extra time they need to meet the many new guidelines that have been put in place.

  • We are not welcoming guests inside our office to check in, and our office will remain closed to the outside public. Once a guests' home is ready and has been inspected, we will send a text with instructions on how to pick up the check-in packet. We ask that guests please practice all social distancing guidelines if you choose to wait outside our office and also when going on to the porch to collect your packet. This is for everyone's safety.

*During your stay, our Maintenance Crew and Office Staff will not be entering your rental home unless it is an absolute emergency. If there are items we need to get to you, we will leave them at a designated spot outside of the home.

**3rd Party Vendors: They will also enter the home on a limited, emergency-only basis. There might also be an increased wait time in getting maintenance items repaired and we just ask for patience and understanding. We will be doing everything on our end to make sure everyone is well taken care of, but sometimes things are just out of our control.

Grocery Store Items

Please bring as much food on your Cape San Blas vacation as you can with you. The Piggly Wiggly in Port St Joe is open and both The Trading Post and Scallop Cove are open on the Cape, but it would be helpful to limit your trips to those places as much as possible, and they have limited items as well.

We can also recommend two other safe options for getting your grocery items:

  • The Piggly Wiggly has started doing curbside pick-up just like you find at Walmart or Target!!  All you need to do to use this service is download the Rosie App, put in our zip-code, 32456, and it will pop up. You can proceed from there to make your selections and choose a time to go and pick up your order.
  • Coastal Concierge: This is a grocery delivery service. Their website is: www.coastalconciergepsj.com.  You can go on there, choose your groceries and they will have them delivered to your rental home.

We are confidant that in working together and following the steps and suggestions outlined above, that Coastal Joe and Cape San Blas can provide a safe-haven of peace and relaxation for our guests this summer. That is our goal and we appreciate the teamwork approach that it will take to keep our beaches open and a safe place for everyone to enjoy for months to come!

We look forward to welcoming you to our beaches, and please don’t hesitate to give our office a call should you have any questions before making a booking, or before your arrival!
