Overall was good, but had some minor inconveniences with the guest area.

Dream vacation! The place was awesome. It was like have the beach to ourselves. We were able to enjoy coffee and sunrise over the bay and then in the evening sunset and wine. Would have loved to stay longer!

We had a great stay at the Pickle! The house was just as described. Very cute, plenty of room for our family and very dog friendly! The back deck with the gate was perfect for our fur babies to be able to beach watch.

Our family had the best experience staying at The Pickle in Cape San Blas, Florida. This house is very nice with lots of room for your family. The view of the ocean and sunsets are amazing and access to the beach is a few steps away. Great place in a great location convenient to both Port St. Joe and Appalachicola.

The Pickle was perfect and very comfortable for a relaxing week with our adult children and our dog. Britney and the other staff members I spoke with were very helpful and pleasant.
It’s wonderful to have a nice place to stay on a beautiful beach that allows us to bring our pets but a couple other rental guests in the area didn’t follow the leash rules and let multiple pets run up and down the beach without controlling them.
Overall, it was exactly the vacation we were looking for and we all enjoyed our time there.

Great house. We only consider it 3 bedroom because the 4th is lower level, would not let our little kiddos stay down there. We had some problems getting TV’s to work but honestly we brought one fire stick from home and this saved us. Will bring more than one in the future. We were far enough down the beach from the rocks that there was actually some beach in front of the house so that was a relief since so many had almost none.
Only recommendations would be to update cookware, some of the skillets we’re almost impossible to keep things from sticking and other thing would be to get an auto off coffee maker. We left this on one night overnight and it could have been bad. The light on it isn’t easily seen so we just unplugged it from then on. We love renting from coastal Joe they are always quick to try and fix any problems!

Great location on the Cape...near Scallop Cove and steps to large beach. Unit needs a deep clean and some updating of rugs and furniture. Had a few sugar ants in kitchen.

Perfect oceanfront property for a week of rest and relaxation. The gated porches are a big plus with dogs. We will definitely keep The Pickle in mind for future visits to the Cape.

The location of this property is ideal for accessing Scallop Cove, The Trading Post and Beach Planet. Comfortable walking distance to all. The beach access is extremely convenient and beautiful! Unfortunately, we were unable to use the ground floor bedroom due to moisture and the smell of mildew. The dehumidifier placed in that space is really undersized for the amount of moisture. We ran the dehumidifier the entire time we were there, but due to the capacity of the unit, it would shut off during the night when it got full. It could be just a seasonal thing. We did enjoy our stay though.

The home we stayed in was spacious and we loved the proximity to the beach, as well as the nearness to pick up miscellaneous supplies.
However, it could have been a little cleaner and the house could use some TLC. There is a leak in the ceiling of the main floor bathroom that may be causing some mold. We also had a leak under the kitchen sink. Worst of all, the outside spigot broke and we were without water in the house the majority of our last day there. The maintenance man was a hero though and worked hard to fix the problem!

We loved our stay here at the pickle. I think one of our favorite things about it was all the porches. Great breezes. Everything looks new and up to date. Only thing I have to complain about is mold around the air vents on the ceiling. We had to call for maintenance once and they were prompt and came quickly.

We loved the house, it was clean an exactly as described. It was very comfortable and offered everything we needed to enjoy our beach vacation.

We found The Pickle the perfect beach vacation spot and are excitedly planning our return. Being beachfront on the white sand beach ....with every comfort and convenience at our fingertips was amazing. The owner had thought of every detail for a wonderful stay; TVs in every bedroom, books perfectly curated for beach reading, a wonderful array of DVDs for entertainment, puzzles for rainy day playing and a kitchen stocked with every pot, pan and utensil we needed to create our own beach delicacies. The Pickle is beautifully decorated with a wonderful open flow to experience the ocean view and breeze. The Pickle’s many decks allowed us to lounge outside our individual bedrooms and also together on the main levels, offering deck views of the bay and the ocean. We were delighted at every turn!

-Plenty of things we loved! Outdoor space, proximity to the beach, boardwalk, outdoor shower, enough room for our 3 sets of family, nice floors, plenty of kitchenware

Things to note that would take what we spent on this rental a step further in satisfaction:

-Grill was out of propane so we had to take it to shop and pay for an exchange
-Middle hinge of pantry door missing screws and caused door to not close
-Ants throughout kitchen and window facing ocean by dinning table
-Bathroom on main level had about a lb of hair pulled out of it where drain was clogged up.
-9 towels for a house with 9 capacity is a bit under service given most women use 2 towels...1 to wrap hair and 1 to dry off (or maybe that’s me). Just a big inconvenience having to shuffle towels around and do a lot of laundry on vacation.
-Big comforter sets & pillows stored in closets (master and downstairs) which then left closets out of room/space. Had to relocate some.
-Smoke alarm went off every time we used stove. Need some type of ventilation system
-Fire ants along outside perimeter of house by driveway/trash cans...multiple attacks of the feet occurred

This was our 4th time vacationing at Cape San Blas and our 2nd time staying at The Pickle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to go back.

We loved our week at the pickle . We had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space . The kitchen was stocked well ( you just need a spatula ;) the views were amazing from all rooms . The bay sunrise rooms could use some darker curtains for sleeping in :) air worked well, the location was great and only a few steps to the beach . We would love to return to the pickle one day :)

Everything perfect except one cockroach found on dining room baseboard on March 1--the day we checked out and went home. We are returning next year.

The Pickle was a good size for our family of six adults. The house is nicely furnished, comfortable, and a short walk to the Gulf shore. You’re given a list of items to bring. I would add bath towels, body soap and tall trash bags to your list. The bath towels, provided, were on the small side and a bit thin. Also, very small, hotel-sized hand soap was provided for hands and showers. One tall kitchen bag was provided, for garbage. We were there for a week! Know, though, that you’re not far from a convenience store, if you forgot anything.

We just so happen to be here when the beach restoration was being performed. We understand that it must be done, it just wasn't our idea of a get-away vacation from our own construction company. It was extremely noisy (all night long) and the large pipe on the beach was unsightly.

With all of that being said, the rental company and home owners tried to do the best they could to accommodate us. We made the best of it and now know how beaches are restored. (It was very interesting).

There were some areas that needed a more thorough cleaning. (Dusting)

All-in-all, the house was SUPER! The new decking on the back and the lighting for the stairs was really great. The homeowner has done an excellent job with the updates!

We always love Cape San Blas. So laid back, pet friendly, beautiful sunsets. Loved the Pickle house on the beach but needs to be advertised as 3 bedroom. Bunk room has no closet or space for clothes and hot. It’s on lower level. Other than that verypretty.Had all you need in kitchen. So close to beach. Had a great time.

Had a wonderful stay at the Pickle, especially enjoyed all the updates post-Michael. The new cable system on the deck really opens up the view from inside the house. Everything in this home is thoughtfully done for the renters. The property was very clean upon arrival. Mary and the staff at Coastal Joe could not have been more accommodating and helpful to questions and needs.

We have rented this house many years in the past and have always enjoyed and look forward to our time here. Coastal Joe and the owners of the home always make us feel welcome, and we appreciate that. We were sobered by the hurricane damage on the Cape, in Port St. Joe, and especially in Mexico Beach, all the way into Panama City. We were amazed to meet so many residents and workers pulling together, working so hard to repair the damage, to open their businesses and get back to normal. Any where you go in this country you find people, in the wake of disaster, refuse to be defeated. We are glad we came this year and looking forward very much to next year!

Mary and the folks at Coastal Joe where wonderful. We did have a few issues and they were able to take care of most of them. The hot water heater was broken and a plumber was sent to repair. Vacuum cleaner broken and they sent over a substitute. These were all minor issues that they took care of immediately. The outside grill was non functioning and the property should not have been listed with a gas grill. The most serious issue was the beach access. I have a bad knee and was not able to drop the four feet to the beach. This is not a fault but an act of nature. However, I was not happy that all the money I paid did not able me to walk on the beach. The Pickle is a delightful home and very clean. The layout is wonderful and so well decorated. The owner did a very good job and we loved every minute except of course for the beach access. The younger folks were able to enjoy the beach. The owner left many movies and books for us to enjoy I love the Pickle and love the folks at Coastal Joe. We intend to book for next year but do need to have beach access and Mary said she would help me. Wonderful time.

Beautiful home, very spacious and location was awesome! The view was breathtaking, even during the hurricane. Coastal Joe was awesome, helping us to extend our stay. They were prompt in replacing the chirping smoke detector batteries for us. My only recommendation would be for the owners to think about building a boardwalk walkover to the beach. Highly recommend this property.

Second year staying at the Pickle!!!!! Perfect location and perfect house. Enough room for everyone and great views. Costal Joes is a great rental company. Clean, well maintained.

Great location.....house did everything that we needed for our family. Extremely short walk to the white sandy beach.

A very beautiful setting. We had dolphins just 20 feet from the shore almost every day. The house itself was very nice and comfortably held 6 adults & 3 children. Just a few feet over the dunes to the super soft white sand beach.
Port St. Joe is just a couple minutes down the road with all the amenities needed. Very private location, very few people and no crazy partying going on. Had a fire on the beach a few different nights as we watched the sunset right over the ocean.
This area really is special and hasn't been overrun by tourism. The state park is very nice and worth a day trip.
Food to check out would be the "doughnut" shack about a mile down the road and Joe Mama's Pizza in Port St. Joe.

Had a problem with tv/wifi. Called and within 30 minutes someone showed up. Had to call in someone else. Two other repairman came and stayed with us for almost 4 hours trying to fix the problem. Did not leave until it was repaired. Could not have asked for any more professionalism from all involved. Loved, loved the Pickle and will return.

We had the best time at the Pickle. It was a perfect location and the house was in great shape. The bedrooms on the bottom floor was attached from inside the house which we were not sure about but worked out perfect for two teenage boys. Everything you need and more is well stocked in the kitchen for cooking and grilling. We will definetly be back next year.

A great week overall in our absolute favorite area! Water pressure was a bit lacking, but was expected.

Beach house was charming. A few maintenance issues but they were addressed immediately. Sunrise and Sunsets were spectacular . A pod of dolphins visited as we swam in the ocean. A hermit crab collection grew as we spent days on the beach. Treats of ice cream cones at the Scallop Cove store topped of the evenings. Great vacation

We had a great trip weather was wonderful . The Pickle was great except the cable-wifi was awful and it needed a deep cleaning for the dog hair. Our family enjoyed our stay . This was our first stay in Cape San Blas . It was quiet and peaceful.

My wife and I decided to spend Thanksgiving at the beach this year. We have always been near family so it was with a bit of regret that we headed south. We have rented many houses on Cape San Blas but this was a new one for us. The Pickle was perfect. It was like home at the beach and we could not have made a better choice. I had do complete some school assignments over the weekend and The Pickle has a perfect desk nook that looks out at the beach. That made staying in a little more tolerable. The Pickle is a property we will definitely rent again.

We loved the location and would stay here again if some things were upgraded. The house is nicely decorated but some items are showing wear such as the appliances, mattresses, etc. Some small maintenance items needed like upstairs bathtub faucet and broken pantry door

House was very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. The dryer did not work very well. Sometimes needed two full cycles to dry. That was our only issue. Great place?

We love the Cape, have vacationed there 6 years now. We really liked The Pickle and the location. One item I would like to see different is the slip cover on the couch is white, something more practical in color would be better so it wouldn't appear to be dirty. The appliances need a update.

Beautiful place in a great location. The house is beautifully renovated and mostly well kept. A few broken things will hopefully be fixed, and it would have been nice to have beach chairs. The Balconies overlooking the bay are not really useful, but the sunsets over the water keep you speechless. We are planning to come back. Plenty of space for a family of 5.

Excellent stay at "The Pickle" on Cape San Blas Florida. Great uncrowded beach. Christmas / New Year weather was better than expected...we had some nice sunny warm days. Would recommend this location and rental unit.

Our family loves the Pickle! We were a group of 5 adults with 3 small children and 2 small dogs. The house was very comfortable, neat , clean and well decorated. The staff at Coastal Joe was very nice and helpful. We absolutely loved our summer vacation on Cape San Blas at the Pickle. We can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay in relaxing Cape San Blas. The Pickle was exactly as advertized and laid out perfectly for our family's needs with plenty of space for three couples with two small children and one adult child. The beach was beautiful and never crowded - even on the July 4th holiday weekend! Good location on the beach and walking distance (.2 mile) to the nearest covenience store. Enjoyed wonderful views of the sunrise over the Bay from new decks on front of the house, as well as sunset views from the back deck overlooking the Gulf and beach. Very few homes on the Cape offer this amenity. If you are looking for a peacefull, quite place, the forgotten coast is perfect. If you like crowds, nightlife, etc, not so much. Plan accordingly, the nearest large grocery store is in Port St. Joe (about a 20 min. drive).

The Pickle was in a perfect location and the beach was gorgeous. We really appreciated the ground floor bedroom,as our dog could not climb stairs.
However, the "dog flies" on the beach were horrible. Actually kept us off the beach at times. I've lived in FL 43 years and have never experienced this before - worse than no-see-ums. Wish someone had mentioned this.

99% perfect. The toaster was broke. Other renters will like to know Cape San Blas sherif will give you a $55 ticket if your pup is on the beach without a leash. NO WARNING ! Mine went while we were still unloading the car. Yep, you guessed it. Other than that ONE person the people on the Cape, vacationers, employees and residents are the friendliest in all of Florida.

Loved: being right on the beach, near enough to BP for kids to walk up for a drink or snack, beach was wide and clean, kitchen well stocked, house comfy and decorated very nicely.
Needs attention: (told Coastal Joe already) oven has issues after a certain temperature, grill ignitor not working, back sliding door to deck is really hard to open.

We stayed at the Pickle with our 3 adult children and their two spouses - it was a wonderful first Family Vacation. Great location, not so many other homes that the beach was crowded, and just a stroll to Scallop Cove for restocking food and renting bikes. The home was decorated in a very fun, comfortable style. We had some connection issues with the TV during March Madness, and someone from Coastal Joe came right over and fixed us up.

Very impressed with cleanliness, no better compliment than to say we felt right at home.Visited several rental agencies in the area; Suzy Kelly deserves a raise!

We absolutely loved it! We found the house to be perfectly appointed and extremely clean, which coming from me is not an easy compliment because I am very picky about cleanliness. We found the house to be welcoming and comfortable while beautifully decorated. If I ever own my own beach house I would want it to look just like The Pickle.
Have I mentioned THE VIEWS?!?! We watched the sun rise over the Bay and watched the sunset over the Gulf. All of the bedrooms have their very own balconies so everyone can enjoy their own privacy and view. We watched the Dolphins play in the water every day and took long walks on the beach with our dog who had just as much fun as we did, if not more.
It is a must stay!
P.S. The rental company was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating.

We enjoyed the Pickle - a great house although a little small for our family, which was all adults. The dining room and living room were tight... not much room to spread out. We always like to do puzzles and had to move the puzzle from the DR table to bedroom whenever we sat down to eat.

The decor is very cute and casual... some kitchen items need some repair/replacement. Coastal Joe's staff was very friendly and professional.

All in all.. a nice stay. We'll use Coastal Joe's again when we stay at Cape San Blas.

Great location and great house for a couple with kids or just dogs. Only the main bedroom faces the beach if that matters. But the bay side is very pretty too. Very cozy and beachy.

Love the funky decor, so much better than the typical beachy look. The attention to detail was amazing, from the best stocked kitchen we've ever found to the great selection of books and movies. We will definitely be going back to The Pickle.

After an unexpected change in schedules, the staff at Coastal Joe's was very helpful in helping us find a suitable vacation rental for the week we needed. We enjoyed The Pickle a great deal. The house was nicely furnished and had great porches. Some updates had been made. The location was perfect and the views were amazing. What a joy watching the sunrise over the bay and the sunset over the gulf! We practically stepped off the back deck onto the beach. While we were there we were able to have a great bonfire on the beach. Without the lights found in more commercialized areas, the night sky was brilliant. Two turtles laid nests almost in front of the house during the week we were there. The week was definitely a "memory maker."

My family of seven adults and two children had a wonderful week at Cape San Blas staying at The Pickle. The house looked exactly like the pictures you see on the website. It should be noted how the bedrooms are layed out though. The bunk bed for children is on the ground floor and is basically the only room down there except for storage. The main level has one queen bedroom and one bath. The upper level contains the king master with bath and another queen bedroom with bath. The house was decorated perfectly - the owner has excellent taste! The house is right on the beach and the views are amazing. As a side note, we ate at Dockside Marina in Port St. Joe, Triple Tails on Cape San Blas and The Grill at Appalachicola. All were wonderful seafood meals! This was our second year at the Cape and we can't wait to return. The shelling is amazing!
