Getting to Cape San Blas

If you consulted a map of The Sunshine State, our easy-to-find location is at the southernmost point of the Florida Panhandle. We’re situated in the southern extremity of Gulf County, and having a population of approximately 15,000, Port St. Joe is one of Florida’s smallest. More specifically, the quiet and history-rich mainland community of Port St. Joe serves our area and it’s only 6 miles across the pristine waters of St. Joseph Bay from our office on Cape San Blas.

The unequivocal jewel of Gulf County is the 15-mile peninsula of Cape San Blas, which is roughly divided into two equal parts. The northern half is the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, which offers amenities such as beaches, picnic areas, cabins and camping facilities. Meanwhile the southern half of Cape San Blas has been set aside for year-round residential neighborhoods which cater to those seeking a water-oriented lifestyle.

The Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals office is located close to the geographical center of the Cape’s residential area and adjacent to retail and bait shops and a gasoline station. This means we are always close by to nearly all of the properties which we represent.

To get from Port St Joe to Cape San Blas, follow US 98 for a few miles south of the city and bear to the right as you approach state highway 30A. After about 2 miles on 30A you’ll come to a small community called Simmons Bayou. There’s a retail seafood store, a marina and boat launching facilities here, as well as terrific views looking north across St. Joseph’s Bay. Also, at Simmons Bayou is the turn off to the St. Joseph Bay Golf Club. 

Continuing on 30A, about 5 miles beyond Simmons Bayou you’ll come to the turnoff to Cape San Blas. Turn right here onto Cape San Blas Road, also known as Highway 30E and 5 interesting miles later you’ll see our office on your right. It’s immediately adjacent to the Scallop Cove convenient center and Marathon gas station.
